Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Spartans vs. IC Catholic Prep Knights + How To Watch

St. Francis and IC Catholic Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Spartans will challenge the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Francis is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

St. Francis is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 63-51 to Aurora Central Catholic on Thursday.

Defeat or not, St. Francis got some senior leadership from Courtny Bridgeforth and Ashley Powell. Bridgeforth posted 17 points and six assists, while Powell went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Bridgeforth is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Tenley Glock also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Meanwhile, IC Catholic Prep came up short against Byron on Thursday, falling 48-23. The Knights have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for IC Catholic Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

St. Francis and IC Catholic Prep were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but St. Francis came up empty-handed after a 39-38 defeat. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
