West Liberty-Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 42-35 to the Mechanicsburg Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-34 back in December of 2024.

Leading Mechanicsburg to victory were Chris Ritchie and Conner Eyink. Ritchie went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Eyink went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Ritchie a new career-high in points. Keegan Freeze was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

West Liberty-Salem now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Mechanicsburg, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9.

West Liberty-Salem will challenge Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mechanicsburg, they will face off against Madison Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
