Baseball Recap: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints
Mountain Pointe extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-17. They lost 7-0 to the Notre Dame Prep Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pride of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Mountain Pointe got a good showing from Ivan Lopez, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Lopez didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games.
On Notre Dame Prep's side, Adam Marshall looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Marshall has posted since back in March.
At the plate, Owen Boeding was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Bott, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mountain Pointe will face off against Gilbert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will square off against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
