Football Game Preview: Bangs Dragons vs. Hamilton Bulldogs

The Bangs Dragons will take on the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bangs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Bangs took a 28-point loss the last time they faced off against Hico, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Tigers on Friday.

One reason for the win was Bangs' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ryan Alqorum and Rooster Laughlin, who racked up five sacks between them. Alqorum also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Bangs got some further help from Cason Tidwell: he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamilton). They claimed a resounding 61-0 victory over Ballinger. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 29 points or more this season.

Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bangs, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.

Bangs took a serious blow against Hamilton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 46-8. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Dragons were down 33-0.
