Basketball Recap: Sharyland Falls to Los Fresnos in First Game of Season

Sharyland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 71-48 to the Los Fresnos Falcons on Friday. The Rattlers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in December of 2015.

Los Fresnos' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Munoz, who shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points. Eric Salazar was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Coming up, Sharyland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harlingen at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Los Fresnos, they will challenge Weslaco East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
