Recap: Southeast Alamance Stallions vs. Chatham Central Bears
The Southeast Alamance Stallions pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-55 to Chatham Central. Southeast Alamance has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Southeast Alamance saw an underclassman step up: Jerry Sims scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Sims hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Mcadoo, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists.
Chatham Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reid Albright out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Albright is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gilliland, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds.
Southeast Alamance bumped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Chatham Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.
Southeast Alamance will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwood at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast Alamance in North Carolina (Northwood is ranked 56th, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 358th). As for Chatham Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Bartlett Yancey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
