Basketball Recap: Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers vs. Heritage Panthers
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 61-39 margin over the Heritage Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Schultz out in front who earned ten points in addition to five assists and two steals. Those five assists gave Schultz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jadalynn Morel, who scored eight points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals.
Heritage's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and Wekiva will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Heritage, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Odyssey Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
