Baseball Game Preview: Bountiful Redhawks vs. Skyline Eagles

For the second straight game, Bountiful will face off against Skyline. The Redhawks will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bountiful gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Skyline 9-8. The game was the first time the Redhawks have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 18, 2016.

Tegan Barnes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Bountiful: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-10 otherwise. Barnes was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graham Fuller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tait Caldwell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Bountiful kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Bountiful's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Skyline, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
