League recap: Churchill County extends winning streak with victory over Fernley

Churchill County extended the longest winning streak in IA Northern this week by beating Fernley, 49-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Spring Creek lost to Lowry 60-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. DILLON DRAPER was a bright spot for the Spartans, as he threw for 155 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss.

Foa Sofara was a force in the backfield as Wooster beat Truckee.

Morgan Dirickson threw for 290 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Sofara was a passing and rushing force as the Colts bested the Wolverines. Sofara's key target this week was Chris Greco, who caught 4 passes for 51 yards.

Sofara was the best running back in the league this week. In 36 carries, he ran for 382 yards as Wooster bested the Vaqueros. Greco also contributed to the rushing game with 10 yards on the ground.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Brooke Hill's team's Dirickson and Tyler Bagby have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Dirickson has thrown for 1,411 yards this season, while Bagby has 19 catches for 618 yards. Austin Fletcher from Dayton leads the league in rushing with 1,314 yards.

BRAXTON WILLIAMS of the Spring Creek is only 83 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 158 carries BRAXTON WILLIAMS has accumulated 917 yard this year.

An important game coming up in IA Northern this week will be when Fernley takes on the Buckaroos. At the moment, Chris Ward's team is in fourth, while Lowry is in second.

The Greenwave made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,338 from 1,870. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 49-6 victory over the Vaqueros last week.
