Basketball Recap: Valencia Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Valencia challenged Taos on Friday. The Valencia Jaguars came out on top against the Taos Tigers by a score of 48-41. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 60-36 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Salazar, who posted four points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Trujillo, who put up nine points.

Valencia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. As for Taos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Valencia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-39 loss against St. Michael's on the 28th. As for Taos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-51 victory against Pecos on the 28th.
