Basketball Game Preview: Shields Panthers vs. Monroe County Tigers

The Shields Panthers are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Monroe County Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Shields knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Monroe County likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Shields duked it out with Hillcrest on Friday. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 56-37 win over the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Monroe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 71-51 to Escambia County.

Monroe County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Shields, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Shields couldn't quite get it done against Monroe County when the teams last played last Friday as they fell 70-59. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
