The Frankton Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Madison-Grant Argylls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Frankton not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024 (when they won 24-6). Everything went their way against Anderson Prep Academy as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Shaun Jarrett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jarrett Morris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Madison-Grant got the win against Liberty Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 16-2. Considering the Argylls have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison-Grant got a big performance out of Gabe Landis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Kameron Richards also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Madison-Grant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only posted a batting average of .062.
Madison-Grant's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Frankton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Both Frankton and Madison-Grant just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Madison-Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frankton came up short against Madison-Grant when the teams last played back in June of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
