Baseball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley lost against Great Oak last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nighthawks lost 11-1 to the Wolfpack. Nighthawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wolfpack since on Friday.

Murrieta Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Kujawa, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Murrieta Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Great Oak, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.

Looking ahead, Murrieta Valley will venture away from home to square off against Murrieta Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Rams have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Great Oak, they will welcome Vista Murrieta at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Broncos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
