Basketball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Badger Braves

The Harding Skippers are taking a road trip to square off against the Badger Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Harding is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Maplewood: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Harding blew Maplewood out of the water with an 86-50 final score. The Skippers pushed the score to 68-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rockets had no chance of recovering from.

Harding found their leader in sophomore Yomar Castellano, who posted 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Allen, who earned 14 points.

Meanwhile, Badger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 66-55 to Windham.

Badger's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Harding, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Harding came out on top in a nail-biter against Badger when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 79-77. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Badger's Duncan Moy, who went 12 of 29 on his way to 33 points along with five assists and three blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Harding to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
