Basketball Recap: St. Pauls Comes Up Short

St. Pauls was the 68-48 winner over Red Springs when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 66-48 to the Red Devils. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, St. Pauls still got an impressive performance from Jakhi Purcell, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 15 points. Aaron Graham was another key player, putting up four points.

St. Pauls' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Red Springs, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pauls will face off against Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Springs, they will take on Western Harnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 52.8 points per game this season.
