Preview: Murphy Bulldogs vs. Hiwassee Dam Eagles
Murphy and Hiwassee Dam are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Murphy Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Hiwassee Dam Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Murphy will be strutting in after a victory while Hiwassee Dam will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Murphy took their game at home with ease, bagging a 81-46 win over Polk County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Murphy.
Among those leading the charge was Dominick Rummler, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Cale Harger was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hiwassee Dam suffered a tough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Andrews on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hiwassee Dam can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Andrews is ranked 219th).
Their wins bumped Murphy to 2-0 and Polk County to 3-1.
Murphy took their victory against Hiwassee Dam when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 82-59. Does Murphy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hiwassee Dam turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
