Volleyball Recap: Sahuarita Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sahuarita entered their match against Rio Rico on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 2nd.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 29-27, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Sahuarita saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paige Clarke had 11 digs, five aces, and one block. Clarke also set a new season-high mark in assists with 43.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-9. As for Rio Rico, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Coincidentally, Sahuarita and Rio Rico will both be playing Douglas the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
