Volleyball Recap: Millburn Millers vs. Colonia Patriots

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Millburn had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Colonia Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Millers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Patriots, so the Millers were just returning the favor.

While Millburn might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Colonia scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

Lily Philipov was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played.

Philipov wasn't the only good servers: Millburn was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive matchups.
