Hillcrest came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Pickens Blue Flame. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since August 23rd.

Hillcrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 15-12.

Tamera Anderson paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up seven kills. Anderson got some help from Liz Jones and her 17 assists.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Pickens, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will welcome T.L. Hanna at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pickens, they will take on Greer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
