Flag Football Game Preview: St. Francis Sharks vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears + How To Watch

The St. Francis Sharks will challenge the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (St. Francis 13.3, Menlo-Atherton 4.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

St. Francis is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering King City just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 32-6. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Sharks, who until this game were averaging 13.28 points allowed.

St. Francis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Keira Grio led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Sophia Madrigal was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton entered their tilt with Woodside on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 14-0 shutout. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 545th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Menlo-Atherton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
