Basketball Recap: Coxsackie-Athens Starts off Right with Win over Hawthorne Valley

Coxsackie-Athens took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 73-61 victory over the Hawthorne Valley Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Riverhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Coxsackie-Athens to victory were Zach Millett and Craig Farrell. Millett posted 38 points, while Farrell scored 25 points.

Hawthorne Valley's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coxsackie-Athens will host Greenville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hawthorne Valley, they will welcome Germantown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
