Baseball Recap: Kelso's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Kelso dropped their record down to 15-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 8-0 to the Prairie Falcons. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Hilanders were not able to get on the board.

As for Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games.

For Prairie's part, Isaac Watson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Watson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kishon Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Owen Dirks, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

While Kelso had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
