Orleans won the last time they faced Salem and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 2-1.

Izzie Rutherford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Orleans' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lilah Cheatham, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Orleans' record now sits at 9-11. As for Salem, their record is now 9-9.

Coming up, Orleans will be playing at home against New Albany at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to square off against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
