The Malibu Sharks will face off against the Milken Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Malibu has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Milken will come in with three straight victories.
Malibu came up short against Windward on Monday, falling 14-6. That's two games in a row now that the Sharks have lost by exactly eight runs.
Sean Perl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Kies, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Milken not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19, 2024. Everything went their way against Faith Baptist as Milken made off with an 11-4 win. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Dane Silverman made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other pitching news, Aidan Pereg looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jonah Herschko, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Bedil, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Milken's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Malibu, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
