Football Recap: Worthing Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Worthing and Almeta Crawford squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Worthing had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 982nd, while the Chargers are ranked 93rd).

Despite the loss, Worthing still got an impressive performance from Tramale Green, who picked up 52 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 34 yards.

Almeta Crawford found their leader in sophomore Dedrick Polk, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and one TD. Those 185 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Polk. Another player making a difference was Braylen Fisher, who threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Worthing and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Almeta Crawford, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Worthing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Almeta Crawford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-28 victory against Lindale on the 21st.
