Soccer Game Preview: MacArthur vs. Pearce

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Pearce recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The MacArthur Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pearce Mustangs at 7:15 p.m.

MacArthur is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lake Highlands on Saturday. MacArthur fell just short of Lake Highlands by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, the Cardinals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Pearce hasn't lost a match since January 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Richardson 3-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Pearce's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for MacArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

MacArthur might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Pearce when the teams last played on February 4th. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point MacArthur was down 4-1.
