Baseball Game Preview: Hueneme Vikings vs. Channel Islands Raiders

For the second straight game, Hueneme will face off against Channel Islands. The Vikings will take on the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hueneme will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Hueneme proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Channel Islands. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since March 13, 2024.

Steven Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hueneme saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allan Rodriguez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hueneme hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Hueneme's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Channel Islands, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-8.
