Baseball Recap: Springstead Starts off Right with Win over Nature Coast Tech

Springstead had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged the Nature Coast Tech Sharks out 3-2. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 4-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Dalton Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Springstead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Sabino, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Springstead will have a chance to go back-to-back against Nature Coast Tech: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
