Recap: Wenonah Dragons vs. Fairfield Tigers
The Wenonah Dragons can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Fairfield. Given Wenonah's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Fairfield is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Samarian Franklin, who scored 31 points along with eight assists and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wenonah's points. Jakerria Ringstaff was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Fairfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wenonah will take on John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they will be playing at home against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Fairfield likes a good challenge.
