De Smet Jesuit loaded once again after dominant 14-0 campaign a year ago.

High school football in Missouri kicks off Aug. 28. In preparation for openers around the Show Me State, we are sizing up the contenders with a look at the state's top 25 teams across all classifications.

De Smet Jesuit ran the table en route to the Class 6 state championship in 2019. The Spartans are equipped to make a repeat run with Ohio State pledge Jakailin Johnson at cornerback, Missouri commit Taj Butts at running back and Illinois commit Brody Wisecarver on the offensive line.

In Class 4, Webb City looks to continue its championship tradition behind future Kansas State Wildcat Devrin Weathers. The Cardinals have won state titles in seven of the last 10 seasons and 15 overall dating back to 1989.
