 The Maple Grove Crimson will be playing at home against the Blaine Bengals at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
 Maple Grove lost  13-4 to Mankato East on Wednesday. Maple Grove has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Meanwhile, Blaine had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They never let the Warriors onto the board and left with  a   3-0  win. That's two games straight that Blaine has won by  exactly three  runs.
 Not much got past  Emmie Sylvia-Cochran, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Brainerd off the board. Sylvia-cochran has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Blaine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Emily Vogel, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 Maple Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Blaine, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record  this season.
 Maple Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Blaine  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, sneaking past  2-0. Will Maple Grove repeat their success,  or does  Blaine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
