Softball Recap: Kennewick Wins Going Away Against Walla Walla

Kennewick won the last time they faced Walla Walla and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions blew past the Blue Devils 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Arianna Ames spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kennewick got a massive performance out of Bailie Berry, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Berry's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kadence Sparhawk, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Kennewick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walla Walla only posted an OBP of .364.

The victory made it two in a row for Kennewick and bumps their season record up to 9-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Walla Walla, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

As of now, neither Kennewick nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
