A feisty cat fight will be fought as Auburn Tigers challenge Prattville Lions at 4:30 p.m. Auburn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Auburn fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Enterprise on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-9. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Auburn got a good showing from Knox Chambliss, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Stuart Mills stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Angelo Santiago was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prattville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Trinity Presbyterian 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 11, 2024.
Christian Alexander was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rigdon, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Prattville pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Prattville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Auburn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Prattville, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Auburn's hitters?
