Basketball Recap: Jarrell Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Jarrell extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Aniya Taylor. The Jarrell Cougars walked away with a 62-50 victory over the Burnet Bulldogs on Friday thanks in part to Taylor, who went 9 of 22 en route to 36 points and five rebounds. Her evening made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Jarrell's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Burnet, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 16-15 record.

Jarrell and Burnet should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Jarrell will face off against Marble Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 826 places (254 vs. 1080). Jarrell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Burnet (ranked 377th) will meet Lampasas (ranked 850th) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
