High school volleyball national dig leaders: Utah State commit Ava Gibbs tops the list

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Ava Gibbs of The Woodlands (Texas) is high school volleyball's national leader in digs.

The senior Utah State commit is approaching 1,500 career digs and has posted 663 this season. She has tallied double-digit digs in all but one match this season with a high of 48 is a five-set loss Sept. 12.

Texas has a stranglehold on the digs leaderboard with the top 15 coming from the Lone Star State, due largely to the number of games played there already.

No. 2 on the list is Berkley Bates of Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, Texas) while Gabriela Anna Etter of Canyon (New Braunfels, Texas), Abigail Vasquez of Ryan (Denton, Texas) and Hailey Tobias of Warren (San Antonio, Texas) round out the top five.
