The Laurel Golden Tornadoes are taking a road trip to face off against the Hattiesburg Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Laurel was able to grind out a solid win over West Jones, taking the game 24-16. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Tornadoes in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hattiesburg beat Ocean Springs 51-47 on Tuesday.

Hattiesburg's win came from a few key players Laurel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joseph Nichols, who posted 14 points. Zavian Martin was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Hattiesburg's record now sits at 3-0. As for Laurel, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
