Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Omaha North Vikings
The Benson Bunnies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 68-49 fall against Omaha North. Benson has not had much luck with Omaha North recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Benson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Noah Faya, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Goanar Bamach, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Benson were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Mynor Strong continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Omaha North, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds. Ky'aire Gregory was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Benson bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Omaha North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Benson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Omaha North at 6:15 p.m. on January 3rd. Hopefully Omaha North is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Benson in Nebraska (Omaha North is ranked 60th, while Benson is ranked 209th). As for Omaha North, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Benson at 6:15 p.m. Benson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
