Soccer Game Preview: Catholic vs. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy

The Catholic Crusaders will face off against the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Catholic's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Catholic is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against John Paul II Catholic on Friday. Neither the Crusaders nor the Saints could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Catholic's goal came courtesy of Jason Preble, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 6-1 to Norfolk Academy.

Catholic's draw gives them a new season record of 4-7-1. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Catholic took their victory against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
