Salem and Bayside are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Sundevils are taking a road trip to take on the Marlins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Salem is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Princess Anne: they outscored them in every quarter. The Sundevils' defense stepped up to hand the Cavaliers a 49-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Sundevils' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 328th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bayside was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Tallwood 43-0. The victory continues a trend for the Marlins in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Salem's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Bayside, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-3.

Salem couldn't quite get it done against Bayside when the teams last played back in September as they fell 34-21. Can the Sundevils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
