Coachella Valley is a perfect 9-0 against Desert Mirage since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mighty Arabs will host the RAMS at 7:00 p.m. Coachella Valley is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Coachella Valley is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since August 31, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Valley View by a score of 21-18.
Despite their loss, Coachella Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ivan Camargo, who picked up 157 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, was perhaps the best of all. Camargo's longest reception was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another passer making a difference was Ivan Garza, who threw for 257 yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, Desert Mirage played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Twentynine Palms, falling 38-14. The RAMS were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.
Although Desert Mirage took the loss, they still got scores from Omar Martinez and Daniel Avila.
Coachella Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Desert Mirage, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Coachella Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Desert Mirage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 300.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Coachella Valley against Desert Mirage in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-6 victory. Will the Mighty Arabs repeat their success, or do the RAMS have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
