Preview: Camden Panthers vs. Cedar Creek Pirates
Camden is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Cedar Creek is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Camden Panthers will take on the Cedar Creek Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Camden had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over Holmdel.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mahki Brunson, who threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of D'hani Cobbs, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cedar Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Timber Creek Regional on Friday, taking the game 32-21.
Camden's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Cedar Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Everything went Camden's way against Cedar Creek in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Camden made off with a 25-0 victory. Does Camden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cedar Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
