Basketball Game Preview: Virginia High Bearcats vs. Gate City Blue Devils

The Virginia High Bearcats will square off against the Gate City Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Saturday, Virginia High was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to Graham.

Despite the loss, Virginia High saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaiden Harris dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jarvis, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Gate City entered their tilt with Hampton last Saturday with eight consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with nine. They beat the Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 61-55.

Gate City pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Virginia High, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
