The Klein Bearkats will head out on the road to take on the Cypress Ranch Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Klein has given up an average of 34.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Klein ended up a good deal behind Magnolia and lost 38-22. The game marked the Bearkats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Klein might have lost, but man, Edward Kelly Jr was a machine: he rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 47 receiving yards and one TD. Kelly Jr's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Cypress Ranch waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Lobos as they made off with a 37-16 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Lobos are ranked 550th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Cypress Ranch's victory came down to the chemistry between Braden Baker and his top target Manny Leyja. Baker threw for 239 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes while Leyja picked up 150 receiving yards and three scores. Leyja's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Cypress Ranch didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Langham Creek to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Johnathan Long, Dorian Rogers, and David Crosby, who each logged one passes deflected. Cypress Ranch wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 76.5%.
Cypress Ranch's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ayden Combs, Calvin Thomas, and Kaden Marshall, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Klein's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cypress Ranch, their record is now 8-2.
