Volleyball Recap: St. Anthony Roman Legion vs. Martin Luther Spartans
After flying high against St. Joan Antida two weeks ago, St. Anthony came back down to earth. The Roman Legion took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martin Luther Spartans on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Roman Legion have let down their home crowd.
St. Anthony started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-22.
Gabriella Salzer was a one-woman wrecking crew For Martin Luther. as she had 40 digs and five aces. Those 40 digs gave Salzer a new career-high.
St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Martin Luther, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-19.
St. Anthony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martin Luther, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against New Berlin West on the 23rd.
