Softball Recap: Great Valley Comes Up Short

Great Valley lost to Downingtown West back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patriots took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whippets.

Great Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Downingtown West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Great Valley will venture away from home to face off against Henderson at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Downingtown West, they will head out to challenge Bayard Rustin at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Whippets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Knights have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
