Softball Recap: Boardman Spartans vs. Howland Tigers
Boardman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Howland Tigers. This was payback for Boardman, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Laci Jurus was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Ellie Wymer was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.
On Howland's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Massucci, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Boardman will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Hoban at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howland, they will be playing at home against Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
