Flag Football Recap: Savannah Arts Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Savannah Arts Academy faced off against St. Andrew on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 20-19 to the Lions when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lilja-Vazquez Maya threw for 59 yards on eight of 20 attempts. Branson Kate was her top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Park Irene rushed for 56 yards.

Savannah Arts Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. St. Andrew's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Savannah Arts Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-0 loss against Woodville-Tompkins on the 6th. As for St. Andrew's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 38-0 defeat against Savannah Country Day on the 4th.
