Recap: Wenonah Dragons vs. Pinson Valley Indians
The Wenonah Dragons waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 51-41 win over Pinson Valley. That's another feather in the cap for Wenonah, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wenonah was led to victory by Jakerria Ringstaff and Samarian Franklin. Ringstaff scored 19 points along with six steals, while Franklin scored 18 points along with six assists and five steals. Franklin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Blanks, who scored ten points.
Wenonah has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Pinson Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wenonah will challenge Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinson Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Huntsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
