Football Recap: The Classical Academy of Sarasota Comes Up Short

The Classical Academy of Sarasota faced Bradenton Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots took a blow against the Panthers, falling 40-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-6 back in September.

Tate Young threw for 100 yards and one touchdown. Jackson Schlabach was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards.

Holland Hume was his usual excellent self, throwing for 174 yards and three TDs for Bradenton Christian. The dominant performance also gave Hume a new career-high in rushing yards (19). Connor Henderson was Hume's top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and one score.

The Classical Academy of Sarasota has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Bradenton Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
