Recap: Boyd Christian Broncos vs. St. Andrews-Sewanee Mountain Lions
The Boyd Christian Broncos scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by St. Andrews-Sewanee at home to the tune of 77-13. Considering Boyd Christian has won eight contests by more than 32 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Boyd Christian was led to victory by Paige Sweeten and Brooke Kesey. Sweeten scored 12 points along with seven assists and five steals, while Kesey scored 24 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kesey has scored at least 25% of Boyd Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Regin Grissom, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Boyd Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for St. Andrews-Sewanee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boyd Christian will square off against Riverside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Andrews-Sewanee, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pittsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Pittsburg is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
